Tickets on sale for Senators game against Tennessee Smokies

KODAK, Tenn. — Tickets went on sale Wednesday for the Walters State exhibition baseball game against the Tennessee Smokies, the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs.


The Smokies announced on Feb. 19 the team would play the Senators on April 3 at Smokies Stadium. The game will have a start time of 7 p.m. and will be a 7-inning contest.


Ticket prices for the exhibition game are $10 for general admission, $7 for students/children, $5 for Walters State faculty/staff and $5 for groups of 50 or more.


Walters State competes in the National Junior College Athletic Association. The Senators baseball team finished the 2018 season as NJCAA national runners-up, falling to Chipola College in the national championship.


The Senators are coached by Dave Shelton, who has won 267 games in now his sixth season as the head coach. Walters State is currently the No. 1 ranked team in the nation according to the NJCAA Division I Baseball Poll.
