Myatt, Robertson and Vogele named NJCAA DI Baseball All-Americans
MORRISTOWN, TN – Tyler Myatt, Aiden Robertson and Jack Vogele were honored nationally on Thursday, as all three were named NJCAA DI Baseball All-Americans.
Myatt and Robertson were named NJCAA DI Baseball First Team All-Americans, and Vogele was named an NJCAA DI Baseball Second Team All-American.
The honor comes after Myatt was named the TCCAA Player of the Year and Robertson was selected as the TCCAA Pitcher of the Year. All three were named to the All-TCCAA First Team and Myatt and Robertson were named to the JUCO World Series All-Tournament Team.
Myatt earned the honor after etching his name in the Walters State record books. Myatt finished the season with a .484 batting average, 31 home runs and 110 RBIs. Myatt broke the school record for home runs and RBIs and tied the record for hits with 105.
Myatt won the Triple Crown in NJCAA DI Baseball, leading the country in batting average, home runs and RBIs. Myatt also led the country in hits, total bases with 220 and slugging percentage at 1.014. He was second in the country in OBP at .583 and in runs with 93.
Myatt had 29 multi-hit games, 29 multi-RBI games and six multi-home run games. Myatt's best game of the season came against Jackson State on April 12 when he went 4-5 with two home runs and 7 RBIs. Myatt went 6-8 with 6 RBIs against Southwest Virginia and had two home runs and five RBIs against Cleveland State on April 24.
Meanwhile, Robertson was named a First Team All-American after going 13-1 and totaling 130 strikeouts. Robertson led the country in strikeouts and was second in the country in wins. He had a K/9 of 13.05.
Robertson was second in the country in innings pitched at 89.2. Robertson went 3-0 in four postseason starts, including a 2-0 record in the JUCO World Series.
Robertson's best start of the season came against Dyersburg State on March 27, throwing a complete game shutout. Robertson allowed just four hits and struck out 11. Robertson also threw a five-inning two-hitter against Volunteer State, striking out 10. Robertson had five games with double-digit strikeouts.
Lastly, Vogele was named a Second Team All-American after a phenomenal sophomore season. Vogele finished the season with a .408 average, 19 home runs and 95 RBIs. Vogele broke the school record in runs scored with 101 and also led the country in the stat. Vogele was fifth in the country in RBIs and ninth in total bases with 165.
Vogele had 25 multi-hit games, totaled three or more hits in eight games, had 28 multi-RBI games and homered twice in three games. Vogele's best game of the season came against Columbia State when he went 4-5 with two home runs and 4 RBIs. He also drove in six runs in a game against USC Union and hit a game-tying home run against Cleveland State with two outs in the seventh on April 24. In the Cleveland State game, Vogele homered twice and drove in four runs.
