ALLENDALE, SC – No. 4 Walters State picked up two more wins on Friday afternoon, defeating USC Salkehatchie, 4-1 and 11-0.
With the wins, the Senators improved to 5-0 on the season.
GAME ONE: No. 4 Walters State 4, USC Salkehatchie 1
In game one of the day, Holden Pantier drove in all four runs for Walters State and the pitching staff gave up a lone hit.
Pantier led the way at the plate with two hits and four RBIs. Kole Fenton had two hits, as well.
On the mound, Tim Tyler (2-0) got the start and picked up the win. Tyler pitched three innings, didn't allow a hit and struck out three. Ryan Smith replaced Tyler in the fourth and gave up a solo home run but struck out three in two innings of work. Lane Sharp pitched the final two innings, not allowing a hit and striking out four of the seven batters he faced.
The Senators got on the board in the first after Fenton led things off with a double and scored on an RBI single by Pantier. Pantier got the lead to 3-0 in the second inning when he doubled home Fenton and Jaxon Walker.
Salkehatchie got on the board with a solo home run in the fourth, but Walters State got that run back in the sixth when Pantier hit a sacrifice fly to score Walker.
From there, Sharp struck out one in the bottom of the sixth and the side in the seventh to end the game.
GAME TWO: No. 4 Walters State 11, USC Salkehatchie 0
In game two, the Senators pulled away late to sweep the doubleheader.
At the plate, Brady Dalton hit a home run and drove in three runs. Drew Blalock homered, as well, while Miles Shore, Jackson Berry and Blalock each drove in two runs.
On the mound, Major Osbolt (1-0) got the start and threw three innings. Osbolt struck out six and gave up just two hits. Hayden Mills replaced Osbolt in the fourth and struck out two in the next two innings, and Bridger Hamilton struck out two in the sixth inning. In the seventh inning, Colton Richards threw a scoreless frame to end things.
It was a scoreless game until the fourth, when Hayden Blair walked and scored when Blalock blasted a two-run home run. In the sixth, the Senators extended their lead to 6-0 with four more runs. Those runs came on a Shore double that scored Luke Graham and a Brady Dalton three-run homer.
Walters State concluded its scoring in the seventh with five more runs. Kenny Cox started things with an RBI single, and Shore walked with the bases loaded to score Davis Peralta to make it 8-0. It was 10-0 after a two-RBI double by Berry, and Fenton flew out but scored Shore to make it 11-0.

Walters State will travel down to Florida next weekend. The Senators will play two games on Friday at Chipola College, one against Southern Union State at 11 am ET and one against Chipola at 1:30 pm ET.
