MORRISTOWN, TN – No. 16 Walters State completed its fourth conference sweep of the season on Saturday, picking up 13-4 and 11-1 wins over Jackson State.
With the sweep, the Senators improved to 36-9 overall and 18-6 in TCCAA play.
GAME ONE: No. 16 Walters State 13, Jackson State 4
In game one, the Senators scored 11 runs in the first four innings and cruised to the win.
Miles Shore led the way at the plate, homering twice and driving in five runs. Along with Shore, Justin Bell and Hayden Blair each homered, while Holden Pantier had three hits and two RBIs.
On the mound, Major Osbolt got the start and threw 2.2 innings. Osbolt allowed four runs on five hits and struck out one. Tim Tyler (8-2) replaced Osbolt in the third and pitched the next 3.1 innings. Tyler allowed just one hit and struck out six. Ryan Perkins threw the final inning and struck out one.
Jackson State jumped ahead 2-0 in the first, but Walters State got a run back in the bottom of the inning when Pantier doubled and scored on a Blair RBI single. In the second, the Senators took the lead with three runs. Shore led off with a single and scored on a Jaxon Walker RBI single. After a walk to Kole Fenton, Pantier doubled and scored both Walker and Fenton to make it 4-2.
Jackson State tied the game one more time in the top of the third, but Shore smoked a two-run home run and Fenton singled home Bell in the bottom of the inning to make it 7-4. In the fourth, Walters State broke the game open with four runs. Blair led the inning off with a solo home run, and Drew Blalock walked and Kenny Cox singled to put two on for Shore. Shore wasted no time, swatting a three-run shot over the fence to make it 11-4.
The Senators' final two runs of the game came in the sixth inning when Bell hit a solo home run, and Davis Peralta flew out but scored Graham to make it 13-4.
GAME TWO: No. 16 Walters State 11, Jackson State 1 (5 Innings)
In game two, Hayden Mills set the tone on the mound, and his offense carried the Senators to the victory.
Mills (4-1) got the start and threw the first four innings. Mills allowed one run on two hits and struck out seven. Lane Sharp threw the final inning and struck out one.
At the plate, Blair hit his second home run of the day and 19th of the season. Kenny Cox had two hits and three RBIs, and Pantier picked up two more hits and drove in a run.
The Green Jays got on the board first with a run in the top of the second, but Walters State responded with seven in the bottom of the inning. Those runs came on a Bell fielder's choice that scored Cox, a Fenton RBI single, a Pantier RBI double, a passed ball that scored Fenton and a three-RBI double by Cox to make it 7-1.
Walters State scored its final four runs of the game in the third. Bell led off with a double, and Graham followed with a double to score Bell. Fenton then hit a sacrifice fly to score Graham, and Blair hit a two-run home run two batters later to make it 11-1.

Walters State is back in action on Tuesday, taking on USC Sumter at Spartanburg Methodist. First pitch of the DH is set for 1 pm ET.
