Senators crowned 2025-26 TCCAA Regular Season Champions
JACKSON, TN – For the third time in program history, the Walters State Men's Basketball Team are TCCAA Regular Season Champions.
Taking on Jackson State on Saturday, the Senators scored 56 second-half points to take a 97-70 win. With the victory, Walters State finished the regular season at 27-1 and 19-1 in TCCAA play.
Jamar Livingston led the way in Saturday's game with 22 points, while Jaquavious Wallace finished with 13 points. Other scorers for the Senators were Malaki Brooks with 12 points, Brian Carter with 12 points, Carter Webb with 10 points, Da'Mori Lytch with eight points, Taquez Butler with seven points, Jayden Nesbitt with six points, Jaceion Coffey with three points, Caiden Bauldwin with two points and Tyrese Stovall with two points.
The Senators started slow over the first 10 minutes of the first half but closed strong and took a 41-32 lead into the locker room. Wallace had nine points in the first 20 minutes, while Livingston also had nine points. Webb finished the opening half with seven points, and Brooks hit two 3-pointers. Lytch scored six points, as well.
In the second half, the offense picked things up. The lead was 70-52 at the 10-minute mark, and Walters State cruised to the victory. Carter scored all 12 of his points in the second half, while Livingston hit two 3-pointers and had 13 points. Brooks hit two more 3-pointers in the final 20 minutes, and Butler had five points.

Walters State will now travel to Gallatin, TN next weekend for the TCCAA/Region 7 Tournament. The Senators will be the No. 1 seed and will play on Saturday, March 7, at 1 pm ET.
