Walters State races at Senators Cross Country Invitational
MORRISTOWN, TN – Walters State hosted the Senators Cross Country Invitational Saturday morning.
As a team, the Senators finished in third place. The Lady Senators had four runners compete.
Leading the way for the men were the Slagle twins. Gavin Slagle finished in fifth place with a time of 28:30, while Gage Slagle came in sixth place with a time of 28:30.
Finishing just outside the top 10 was Evan Miller in 11th place with a time of 29:21, and Sam Runyan came in 21st place with a time of 31:19. Rounding out the team were Edgar Martinez in fifth place with a time of 31:40, David Baker in 28th place with a time of 31:57, Walters Kledzik in 38th place with a time of 40:21 and Parker Minor in 39th place with a time of 44:02.
For the Lady Senators, Katie Calkins was the top finisher in 10th place with a time of 21:20. Aislynn Hurley was second for Walters State in 15th place with a time of 22:29, and Allie Swann finished in 21st place with a time of 25:12. Chloe Williford was the final finisher for the Lady Senators, coming in 26th place with a time of 27:20.
The men's race was an 8k, while the women ran a 5k.

Walters State will be back in action next Friday, taking part in the Twilight at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, AL. The women run at 7:30 pm ET, with the men to follow at 8:30 pm ET.
