Walters State's Kiera Hill named NJCAA Women’s All-American
MORRISTOWN, TN – Walters State's Kiera Hill capped off a successful 2022 season on Tuesday afternoon as she was named a NJCAA 2nd team All-American.
Hill becomes the first Lady Senator earning All-American honors since Blayre Shultz was named a 2nd team All-American in 2021. She is the 28th All-American named in Walters State history. Hill was also named the 2022 TCCAA/Region VII Women's Player of the Year, 2022 TCCAA/Region VII Offensive Player of the Year and the All-TCCAA/Region VII First Team.
The honor for Hill comes after a phenomenal season from the Lady Senators offensive weapon. During the season, Hill played and started in all 26 games where she averaged 18.9 points per game and 9.7 rebounds. Her 18.9 points per game was good enough for 13th in the country.
Hill shot 47.7% from the field and 74% from the free-throw line. Hill led the conference in points per game and rebounds per game. Hill recorded a double-double in 14 games this season.
For the season, Hill scored over 20 points 12 times. Her season-high came against Patrick and Henry Community College when she scored 31 points and was 15-19 from the field.
Joining Hill on the second team are Shanequa Henry of Eastern Oklahoma State, Promise Taylor of Grayson, Dais'Ja Trotter of Rend Lake, Nya Valentine of Shelton State, Alexia Dizeko of South Georgia Tech, Destiny Brown of Southern Nevada, Telisha Brown of Blinn, Abby Barr of Highland and Ivane Tensaie of North Dakota SCS.
The All-America selections are made by the NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee.
