Terryauna Griffin named TCCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

MORRISTOWN, TN – Terryauna Griffin was named the TCCAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday, following an impressive showing last week against Pellissippi State.

Griffin is the first Lady Senator named TCCAA Player of the Week this season.

Griffin was awarded the honor following a 27-point showing against the Lady Panthers. Griffin made 11 shots, three 3-pointers, and added four steals, four rebounds and three assists to the statline. The Lady Senators took home a 73-42 victory.

For the season, Griffin is averaging 16.5 points per game and has made 90 field goals and 15 3-pointers. Defensively, Griffin has 58 steals, good enough for sixth in the country. Griffin has helped guide Walters State to a 10-4 overall record, 7-0 record in TCCAA play and a No. 25 ranking in the country. 

Griffin and the Lady Senators are back in action at home on Wednesday evening against Motlow State at 5:30 pm.
