Lady Senators ranked No. 18, Senators No. 23 in NJCAA DI Preseason Basketball Polls

MORRISTOWN, TN – Both Walters State basketball programs will be ranked when the season starts next weekend. 

On Monday, the NJCAA released their DI Preseason Basketball Polls, with the Lady Senators ranked No. 18 and the Senators ranked No. 23. 

The Walters State women's basketball team is coming off a 25-6 season, a TCCAA Regular Season and Tournament Championship and an appearance in the NJCAA DI Women's Basketball Tournament. The Lady Senators return NJCAA 3rd Team All-American Terryauna Griffin, as well as Nyjah Gibbs, Raegan Starks and Anaya Mulholland-Natt. 

The Walters State men's basketball team is coming off a 20-9 season and return Da'Mori Lytch, Malaki Brooks and Jaceion Coffey. The Senators also bring in a star-studded freshmen and transfer class. 

The Walters State women's basketball team opens the season at home on November 1 against preseason No. 2 Shelton State. The Walters State men's basketball team opens the season on October 31, on the road against Union College JV.
