Terryauna Griffin named WBCA Two-Year College Coaches’ All-American
MORRISTOWN, TN – For the first time in program history, Walters State has a Women's Basketball Coaches Association All-American.
On Tuesday, Walters State's Terryauna Griffin was one of 10 individuals selected as a WBCA Two-Year College Coaches' All-American.
It was an unreal season for Griffin, who finished fourth in the country in points per game at 21.2. Griffin's 657 points on the season makes her the Walters State Single-Season Scoring record holder. Griffin scored double-digits in 29 of 31 games on the season, scored 20+ points in 19 games and 30+ points in eight games.
Along with the points, Griffin averaged five rebounds and 2.7 steals per game.
For her career, Griffin finished with 1,182 points, the Walters State All-Time Scoring record. Griffin averaged 19.1 points per game over 62 games.
Along with the All-American honor, Griffin was named the TCCAA Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year and an All-TCCAA First Team Member.
Griffin helped lead Walters State to a 28-3 record, a 20-0 record in TCCAA play, a TCCAA Regular Season Championship, a TCCAA/Region 7 Tournament Championship and an NJCAA DI Women's Basketball Tournament Elite Eight appearance.
