Veda Barton named NJCAA DII Volleyball Third Team All-American
MORRISTOWN, TN – Veda Barton became the sixth All-American in Walters State Volleyball history on Tuesday, selected as an NJCAA DII Third Team All-American.
Barton's selection makes it four years in a row that the Lady Senators have had an All-American. Barton joins Lauren Mims (2024, First Team), Rylee Haynie (2024, Third Team), Jaci Drinnon (2023, Second Team), Jordan Moore (2022, Honorable Mention) and Olivia Oxendine (2020-21, Second Team) as Walters State Volleyball All-Americans.
Barton earned Third Team All-American honors following a phenomenal sophomore season. Barton led the TCCAA in kills with 351 and was second in total blocks with 95. Barton had a hitting percentage of .272 and totaled 42 aces. Barton led the conference in points, as well, with 447.5.
Barton was named an All-TCCAA First Team member this season, as well.
The All-American selection wraps up an incredible two-year career for Barton. Barton tied the program record for kills with 577, finished with 731 points and totaled 195 total blocks. Barton helped lead Walters State, during her freshman season, to a TCCAA/Region 7 Championship, a Southeast B District Championship and an appearance in the NJCAA DII National Tournament.
