Senators finish fourth at Cleveland State Invitational
COHUTTA, GA – Walters State finished in fourth place at the Cleveland State Invitational on Tuesday at North Nob Golf Course.
As a team, the Senators shot 17-over on Tuesday to finish the tournament at 48-over. Walters State finished four shots ahead of Roane State, who finished in fifth, and 15 shots ahead of Cleveland State, who finished in sixth.
Leading the way for Walters State was Maddox Butler, finishing in third place at five-over. Butler shot an impressive two-under in his final round, birdieing holes one, nine, 10 and 16. Butler had just two bogeys in his round.
Greyson Smith was next for the Senators, coming in 12th place at 11-over. Smith shot six-over on Tuesday, and he birdied the 16th hole.
In 29th place was Ayden Smith at 17-over. Smith shot nine-over on Tuesday. Along with Smith, Alex Gaetz finished in 36th place at 19-over. Gaetz shot four-over in his final round, and birdied the third, fifth and 14th holes.
Rounding out the team was Blake Dawson, finishing in 46th place at 22-over. Dawson shot 11-over on Tuesday, and he made back-to-back birdies on the 17th and 18th holes.
Playing as individuals, Brant Kardatzke came in 72nd place at 33-over, while Austin Williams finished in 74th place at 35-over. Kardatzke shot 10-over on Tuesday, while Williams shot 18-over.
